The NFL and NFLPA have decided to extend the CBA deadline to next Friday, March 11. Both parties will take the weekend off and return to the negotiating table on Monday.
Like I said last night, this edition of the CBA is starting to sound more and more like 2006, where they got a deal done in mid-March after extending the deadline in similar fashion (I'm not a CBA expert by any means). Teams cannot perform player transactions after today and the Union could still de-certify if need be, next Friday.
Owners are also thought to be coming to town on Monday. Previously they have not been part of the actual bargaining sessions.
I'm really beginning to believe this will be resolved by April, despite the four letter network's doom and gloom every night.
