Update: AJ Hawk just signed a new 5-year deal with the Packers. Looks like Nick Barnett might be the odd man out now.

Adam Schefter is reporting the Packers have cut AJ Hawk. Hawk has been sort of a punch line for Packer fans ever since they drafted him 5th Overall in 2006. Hawk has spent the last couple of years in Dom Capers 3-4 defense at inside linebacker and has gained a great deal of experience over the years. He had a $10.5 million escalator clause in his contract, and could still re-sign with the Packers. He was a member of the All-Rookie team in 2006 and was the defensive captain on this year's Super Bowl champs.
