Update: Here's some GREAT video footage of all the Hangman's clothes line tackles. Must see.
Was anyone more surprised than me that the former 18th round pick, star LB Chris Hanburger actually made it in?? That's 4 Redskins in as many years. (Monk, Green, Grimm, and now Hanburger). Hanburger will join the rest of the Hall of Fame class (Richard Dent, Marshall Faulk, Les Richter, Ed Sabol, Deion Sanders and Shannon Sharpe) at mid-field today for the Super Bowl coin toss.
"It's wonderful," Hanburger said in a conference call. "I am just overwhelmed. It's just a tremendous honor to have been nominated, much less get in. . . . It's just a select group that make it." [WaPost]
"I played in the Pro Bowl at Texas Stadium one year, was booed and thought that was the neatest thing that could happen," Hanburger said of that moment in January 1973. [sacbee]
Hanburger of course played all 13 years with the Redskins, 9 as a Pro Bowler, and was part of the Overhill the Gang that made it to Super Bowl VII.
