This Isn't Brandon Banks First Run-in with the Police

Update: It was Banks (who could not get into the club) who attacked Shorter. (via DC Fab)

First, let me preface this that if people judged or blogged about me for things I did in college, I'd be pretty pissed. At the same time, I wouldn't be carrying drugs and getting arrested for battery while playing for a D1 school. This happened in December of 2009:

All-Big 12 kick returner Brandon Banks of Kansas State has been released from Riley County Jail after he was arrested on charges of battery and unlawful possession of a stimulant.

Riley County police Lt. Herb Crosby said the arrest came early Sunday morning after a man was involved in a dispute with a woman in her mid-20s who lives at the same residence in the 400 block of North 17th Street in Manhattan, Kan. Banks was released from jail later in the day after posting bonds totaling $2,500.

Now, a stimulant can be anything. Coke, X, nicotine...you name it.

Fat Pickled also blogged today video from that Eagles/Redskins Monday night skirmish where Banks is very much running to be in the middle of things. There are also some Google images of him partying in college (who hasn't).

The benefit of the doubt is slipping despite how much I love this kid. If Haynesworth is still on this team, you can believe Banks' spot is safe. Get well Banks...we support you, but the timing of this couldn't be any worse with Haynesworth's actions (well, I guess the timing would be worse the week leading up to the Super Bowl).
