Eagles Notes: Reid says starters will play vs. Redskins | Philadelphia Inquirer | 12/27/2011
"Listen, this is what we do as coaches, this is what the players do as players, this is their profession," Reid said Monday. "So to say something's 'meaningless,' I don't think that's right. I think it's an opportunity to play another game against a good football team and make yourself better as a team and as an individual and that's what you do."
Despite Record, Shanahan Sees Progress
"I feel good with the type of players that we do have," he said. "We still need a good draft [and] a good free agency. We still need to improve from where we’re at right now. Our record obviously dictates that, but I feel good about the football team and the direction we’re headed...We had less depth than I thought. We were a little bit older at a few different positions and I thought we might keep those players a little bit longer than we did. But that’s not a negative."

"Playing up and down depending on who you’re playing, and the good teams don’t do that. They dominate whoever’s in front of them. For us to turn that corner, we’ve got to do that. For us to do that, we’ve got to put three, four, five wins together over a period of 16 games, and we just for whatever reason, we’re not doing that right now."
