I'll give the Redskins one thing: they certainly are fun to watch. Where teams with four wins this far into the season would have laid down in the past, the Redskins continue to battle and show that they are not too far away from competing with some the league's best. But what are the Redskins goals the final three weeks of the season?
Sorry to bust everyone's draft bubbles, but I'd love to see the Redskins finish up 7-9 and I really don't think it's that far fetched. Sure our offensive tackle situation isn't ideal and we face daunting defensive end combos the rest of the way, but our last three games are certainly winnable. The first will likely be the hardest with the Giants, a team still with playoff aspirations and in a neck and neck battle with the Cowboys, which could be decided in the final week of the season. But the Giants have been an up and down squad all year, could the Redskins lure them into a trap?
I think the biggest different in the 2011 version of the Redskins is that this isn't a bad veteran team just trying to get to the finish line; rather a young, hungry team trying to grow. Where teams like Minnesota and Philadelphia may lay down in Weeks 16 and 17, the Redskins may bring it full force especially on the defensive side of the ball.
But what do we want to see as fans? Wins and a team infused with youth gain confidence? Or losses that will help us obtain a Top 5 pick and likely a top rated quarterback? I vote wins.
