Two straight losses, shaky quarterback play and a couple of significant injuries have the Redskins slipping in the rankings.

Not sure that it matters whether John Beck or Rex Grossman is the QB right now. Tight end Fred Davis continues to be a factor in the passing game, but the Redskins have to run the ball to win and they have not done that the past two games. Defense was a little disappointing against the Panthers.
Sb-nation-news-1_medium 19 14 I'm not quite sure what to do with the Redskins. I think you have to win games against Carolina if there's an idea that you can win the division (and, yes, they can win the division because seemingly no one wants to jump out in front in the NFC East).
Ovi_cbsports_icon_256x256_comp_v1-46x46_medium 18 14 It made little difference to start John Beck. The quarterback issues will plague this team all season.
Logo-cnnsi_medium 22 15 I've dropped the Redskins precipitously, but it's because of the way things are unraveling in D.C. on the injury front. Tim Hightower, gone. Chris Cooley, gone. Starting guard Kory Lichtensteiger, gone. Santana Moss is out for five to seven weeks, and left offensive tackle Trent Williams remains iffy with an ankle sprain. Even linebacker London Fletcher might miss a game for the first time in his 14-year career with a hammy problem. Mike Shanahan's roster simply isn't deep enough to withstand that kind of misfortune and mayhem in terms of health.

Now it is the ‘Skins defense that is coming under fire after the loss to Carolina.

18 While the Skins’ weaknesses of stopping the run, and effectively moving the ball have been exposed these past two weeks, they are even worse shape now considering their injuries. Tim Hightower, Kory Lichtensteiger, and Chris Cooley are now on injured reserve, with Santana Moss out for at least the next 5 weeks. Add in injuries to Trent Williams, London Fletcher and O.J. Atogwe, and things aren’t looking good in Washington. The lack of depth on this team is being exposed, and the Redskins have some tough games coming up.
