Rotoworld.com recently posted an article of likely suitors for Terrell Owens, and the author, Gregg Rosenthal, has the Redskins as #3 on that list below the Ravens and Redskins? HUH?!?!
3. Redskins: The Fighting Cerratos don’t really have the cap room, but they have to be near the top of the list of teams crazy enough to do it. Dan Snyder also invested three picks at receiver in the 2008 draft, with initially poor results. Owens would fix the position quickly and amp up Washington’s NFC East rivalries.
Gregg, buddy, you need to do your homework. I assume you live on the West coast but you've mistaken the 2001 Redskins front office with the current one. Your arguments in fact are the reasons we would never acquire TO:
- We don't have the cap space.
- We invested 3 picks in the receiver position.
After what TO did to San Fran, Philly and Dallas, there is NOTHING that shows he is worth acquiring. We have a tight locker room as it is, and he would certainly be a head-ache the team just doesn't need. Plus, I haven't heard any comments from Redskins' silent owner, Clinton Portis, lobbying for T.O.
If T.O. bitches about not getting the ball in the 3 best offenses in the league (the times he was there), I can't imagine his sideline tirades on a team that loves three-and-outs and an average of 16.2 points per game.
