Monk and Green go into the HoF, then we play the Colts

Per Redskins Insider the team was selected to play in the Hall of Fame game the day after inductions. I don't know on what reasoning teams are selected for this game though I have to think it is the double threat that is Darrell Green (getting in on his first year of eligibility) and Art Monk gaining the much deserved honor and respect they earned on the field. Remember, though, that the Hogs are still under represented in the Hall, and all that wonderful righteous indignity used to get Art Monk recognized could be well spent on a Russ Grimm or a Joe Jacoby -- just sayin'.

Per the Official Site this is one game we can't lose, or haven't, anyways:

t's the second time in five years that the Redskins will play in the Hall of Fame Game. In 2004, Hall of Fame coach Joe Gibbs made his return to the sidelines in the Redskins' 20-17 win over the Denver Broncos in the Hall of Fame Game.

With the Hall of Fame Game on the schedule, the Redskins will play five preseason games in 2008. The rest of the preseason schedule will be announced in April.

New Redskins head coach Jim Zorn will make his debut on the sidelines at Canton, Ohio.

Washington is a perfect 4-0 in Hall of Fame Games.

It's a good thing when you're playing a team as talented as the Colts that the outcome be meaningless. One because it means losing ain't so bad and two, for that fact the other team won't be playing Peyton Manning through four quarters.

August 3rd, 8PM Eastern kickoff. Let that serve as an awful reminder of just how long the offseason is, sorry. Share the emotional burden by suffering communally here.
