Out with the Al, in with the Zorn.

[editor's note, by Skin Patrol] Bumped from diaries because ThePosse is on top of things. The word from the espn article below: Jim Zorn has accepted an offer to become offensive coordinator for the Washington Redskins, sources said. Zorn, 54, has coached quarterbacks for the Seattle Seahawks since 2001. He was previously quarterbacks coach for Detroit from 1998 to 2000. Zorn's hiring comes as the Redskins continue their search for a head coach. This is unfortunate for Coach Al Saunders, who has apparently been replaced. More, later. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3214785

In what I guess is a strange turn of events (JLC at RI reported yesterday that Zorn wasn't leaving Seattle http://blog.washingtonpost.com/redskinsinsider/2008/01/what_now.html ) Jim Zorn will replace Saunders as OC.

Not sure how I feel about this...yet.  I guess it's a good thing that on January 25th we finally officially have an OC that can start working with JC, but damn...the poor kid's gotta be having nightmares now about another friggin system to learn. And the "West Coast" system taboot. Ugh.

And who the hell is making these decisions?  Do Danny and his minion already have a HC in place but aren't talking?  Is it Fassel but he's waiting to make the announcement until the fan uproar (well done people) subsides a bit?   How can they hire a coordinator before hiring a HC??

Aaahhhhh THIS TEAM!!!!
