THE HOME DEPOT AND THE NFL ANNOUNCE NEIGHBORHOOD MVP PROGRAM TO HONOR PLAYERS WHO GIVE BACK TO THEIR COMMUNITIES
17 NFL Players Selected As Recipients of Inaugural Award for Charitable Contributions

ATLANTA, Sept. 12, 2007 - The Home Depot®, the world's largest home improvement retailer and `official home improvement sponsor' of the National Football League®, today announced The Home Depot NFL® Neighborhood MVP, a national program that recognizes players who are making a positive impact in their local communities through charitable programs and contributions.

The Home Depot NFL Neighborhood MVP program will reward 17 players, one for each week of the regular season, with a football field refurbishment or a playground build in their local market and a donation to the charity of their choice. Each player will work with representatives from KaBOOM!®, a national nonprofit that envisions a great place to play within walking distance of every child in America, and volunteers from The Home Depot to complete the field refurbishment and playground projects.

And wouldn't you know it that one of the 17 players selected was Antwaan Randle El. Details are still pending but voting will be done by a panel and by fans voting on teh tubenets, each weighing 50/50. Voting can be done here at Home Depot.com starting November 22nd. Helping Antwaan Randle El get recognized during Super Bowl week (where he'll be playing anyways) is good, helping him get 25 large to contribute to charity is better. I am a sucker for players contributing to their communities and it would be inconsistent of me not to attention you all to this. Please take a chance to vote and participate as it it towards a worthwhile cause. I will do my best to keep you posted on any new developments as I hear of them.

Congratulations to Antwaan on getting included in this.
