Whatchoo talkin' 'bout Jason Willis?

Redskins signed free agent WR Jason Willis today, sneaking him in just as we start the mini camps. Per the Official Site:

The Redskins have signed free agent wide receiver Jason Willis, the team announced on Friday. To make room for Willis on the roster, the Redskins released rookie wide receiver Terry Mitchell.

Willis, a two-year NFL veteran, is expected to be on hand for the team's three-day mini-camp on June 15-17. He will likely compete for a roster spot as the fifth wide receiver or a job on the Redskins' practice squad.

Willis, 6-1 and 196 pounds, spent last year's training camp with the Miami Dolphins, but was released after preseason.

Jason was undrafted out of Oregon and appears to be either camp fodder or else a really long shot towards making anything other than the practice squad, if that. His bio says he's played in exactly one game, with no receptions. I cannot find anything of note on Mr. Willis, though wish him well just the same.

Happy trails to WR Terry Mitchell, who was cut. The former track star and tall/big JuCo receiver apparently could not impress the coaches.
