The Redskins have released veteran safety Troy Vincent, the team announced on Thursday.
Best of luck to Troy Vincent, although this wasn't an unexpected move by any means. Vernon Fox feels a lot better about his job, and Vincent is replaceable with the return of Pierson Prioleau. Or perhaps this means the team is going to give Adam Archuleta another/more of a chance?
Vincent, who has played 15 years in the NFL, joined the Redskins midway through the 2006 season. He played in eight games, starting three at strong safety. He also played one game as a member of the Buffalo Bills.
The team saves nearly 1.3M in cap space in 2007 with this move, making it a no-brainer.
