State of the Haven Address

First and foremost just wanted to apologize for my weekend disappearance. I made a semi-last second decision to move some things and spent the entire weekend doing so. Obviously many of you picked up the slack in the diaries section while I was gone; that's greatly appreciate.

I've already taken some steps to insure future content in my infrequent absences. I am in the middle of relocating from one city to another, and this typically takes up large amounts of my weekend time. In my absence Hogs Haven faithfuls will be providing some form of front page content for you all to chew on.

I want to remind our readers (and inform our newer ones -- by the way, welcome) about the diary section. As some of you noticed, loyal Hogs Haven reader zknower recently had a diary promoted to the front page. Ultimately this website's success is contingent on participation from you guys, and in order to facilitate more of that I plan on promoting particularly relevant and thoughtful diaries to the main page throughout the week. I'd like to encourage all our readers to participate in this website as often as possible and please, please take advantage of the diaries section to pen your own thoughts on the team. You might just find those thoughts on the front page of this website.

I would like nothing more than to have produced some content this evening, however I just spent the last 2 hours getting my vehicle towed and am now tired and in need of sleep. I promise that first thing tomorrow we'll get some relevant news info up, as well as taking a detailed look at the final cuts and how our roster will shape up for the regular season.

Other than that I apologize profusely for my recent absence and assure you that it will not happen again (or, in the event that it does, content will be provided regularly). Barring this weekend, this site's traffic has continued to increase and I appreciate you guys coming in to check in. Often times it is difficult to measure how well a website is doing, so I have zero reservations about utilizing someone else's complicated metric. If you head on over to Faircatch's Blog Rankings you'll notice that Hogs Haven ranks second in "Influence". I have no idea what this means, but it makes me feel good about the site.

I hope everyone had a safe and happy Labor Day weekend. We'll get some quality analysis/news/pictures of cheerleaders up this weekend for your Redskins fix so definitely stop by throughout the week. Again, I urge all new and old readers to contribute your own thoughts in the diaries section, as this site depends on your participation. Cheers.
