As I mentioned in an earlier post, I'm a big fan of Brandon Lloyd. Our offseason acquisitions of ARE and Lloyd pleased me to no end because we had no WR options past Santana Moss last year: all the other wide receivers combined for 48 receptions last year; that's horrible.
There was also some trepidation towards Lloyd, whose exit from San Fransisco was accompanied by rumors that he wasn't a team player and a drain on the locker room atmosphere. By the time I was 3 or 4 entries into his training camp journal all that talk was forgotten. Brandon Lloyd turned out to be an articulate, interesting, and thoughtful guy. He showed a willingness to spend his time giving readers a peek into the training camp from a "new guy"/player perspective. Everything Lloyd wrote in the journal suggested that he was excited to be a Redskin and to join in the history this great franchise has known. And as a Redskin fan, I was excited about having him. I still am.
If you decide that fretting about our Pretend Football woes is getting old (and it is) then check out a rare bit of Redskins good news over at this Fox Sports character piece on Lloyd. What you might have known about him is that he's well liked in the locker room and is as much a clown/joker as Chris Cooley and Clinton Portis.
What you might not have known about Brandon Lloyd is that he's a budding hip hop singer (we'll see how that pans out) and, amazingly, he's a Willie Nelson fan.
Brandon Lloyd seal of approval
This is a crazy, mixed up world we live in.
