It was great that the Redskins had 12 picks in this year's NFL draft, after so many years with a dearth of selections. But they waited until the seventh round to draft an offensive lineman. That didn't make sense.

"The Dancing Bear" Helped Lead Redskins to Prominence in 1970s

Defensive end Ron McDole became a Redskin in 1971 and was a charter member of the team's "Over The Hill Gang." That group was part of Redskin team's that made the playoffs five times in the 1970s, including an appearance in Super Bowl VII.

George Starke: Senior Citizen on the "Hogs"

George Starke was an original "Hog," the Washington Redskins famed offensive line from the first Joe Gibbs coaching era. He was also the "Head Hog" because of his seniority on that line.
