Mock Draft round 2: Hogs Haven needs YOU

TexSkins thinks we're going to be picking in the SB Nation Mock Draft sometime around Saturday, so it's time to start thinking about who we should select. He produced this list of possible moves:

I think we need to go DL, OL, or WR.  That's pretty obvious.  Some names I've got:

DL

 Ellis (DE) (Va Tech)

Jackson (DE) (USC)

Bryant (DT) (A&M)

Okam (DT) (UT)

OL

Rachal (G) (USC)

Schuening (G) (Oregon St.)

WR

Hardy (Indiana)

Add your own in the comments section, with justifications. A somewhat current list of the players taken thus far is on the left hand sidebar of Mocking the Draft. I really feel like holding out for Jordy Nelson in the 3rd round, though in a phone conversation TexSkins suggested the idea of taking Nelson early just to make sure, and I wasn't totally against it. Hardy would make a fine receiver, too. I like anyone high on the O-Line list and though I'm personally more inclined to take a DE than a DT, word is that Greg Blache really wants an interior lineman.

Where'd everybody go?
You know it's slow when there's no one around to comment on how slow it is.

Anyway, I'd really like to go DE here... like I wanted in the 1st round... but there are better players at other positions.

I think that in the real draft, Nelson will be there in the 3rd round.  In the bloggers draft, he'll be gone because his name is bigger than a 3rd round OL or DL.

We passed on Albert.  I think the offense needs addressing here... I say either Hardy or one of the G's.  If I had to choose, I'd go with Rachal.  Hardy or Rachal?  I'd probably say Rachal and pray for Nelson.

"everybody"?
There's like 7 people who read this website.

And 5 of the 7 are missing...
that's like a 250% dropoff.

Err... I'm not good with numbers so it might not actually be 250%... but it's a lot.

I betrayed You noooo....
My duties as a boyfriend kept me away from the Haven. Can you believe that girls get mad when you cut them off in mid-sentence, saying that you need to check HogsHaven? I keep telling her there's no offseason & she keeps telling me that we're over & to get of her computer. Weird right?

I havent checked the mock but is DT Trevor Laws around or would that be a reach? DE Lawrence Jackson looks good to from USC.

We all want a DE but does anyone notice that Vinny keeps talkinfg about getting a DT?

Laws is there...
but it would probably be a reach... He, like Okam and Brynt, should be around in the 3rd.  He might even fall to the 4th range.

Jackson and Ellis do look good.

No one likes Rachal or y'all just like the DEs better?

Ellis
I can only really comment on Ellis, seeing him first hand a lot at Tech.  He is a big, fairly fast player.  I saw him do some ridiculous things. Batting some balls down, gettin sacks, and flyin all over the place.  I've heard he's not quite strong enough right now to be a consistenly effective pass rusher, although he doesn't look that way.  He's a good dude too, hey he was born in hawaii man.  The arrest and suspension at Tech was Josh Hyman's fault more or less.  He was one of the biggest ass clowns there.  Either way, Ellis probably isn't a 2nd rounder.  I've heard good things about Lawrence Jackson and Red Bryant though.

Good stuff...
I knew there were "character issues" but I didn't know anything deeper about it.

Bryant seems like a reach.  I like him (and Okam for that matter) but the both seem more of 3rd round guys.  I think at least 1 should be there when the Skins pick in the 3rd.

I have Ellis and Jackson as the 2 highest DEs remaining on my board.  They almost seem like the same player to me.  Interesting stuff.

Jackson...
i'll throw in my support for selecting Lawrence Jackson if he is there for our pick. I think his numbers suffered this year due to the fact that he was on a great defense.

Get our DE here and look for a solid WR, DT, or OL in the third. With our two third round picks, I'd like to see us get Okam or Bryant and also the best receiver available. Im hoping Bennett falls from Vandy.
