Redskins cut two receivers
Per the Official Site we've lost Steven Harris and Mike Espy:
Espy was set to assume a more prominent role on the Redskins' offense last year when he suffered a knee injury in preseason. He was placed on injured reserve following surgery, ending his season...
Harris had suffered a knee ligament during a 2007 mini-camp practice. He was placed on injured reserve following surgery.
I enjoy watching the discussion here on drafting a WR but don't want to read too heavily into these cuts. I doubt either Mike Espy or Harris were ever threatening the #2 or #3 spot on the roster. If we were set, or opposed to, drafting a WR on the first day of the draft, those plans have probably not changed substantially.
Mike Espy is especially missed. For a guy who was effectively a practice squad overachiever for much of his tenure here, I typed his name on at least 24 different posts.

maybe there's something
I'd like to think that they would hold on to these two until atleast OTA's in the spring. Maybe there's a push for some WR's soon.

A dim bulb brightens
As for the others, I hope they can max out their potential while there with the Skins but until they do something beyond pratice "where talking partice..practice?" I wont consider them anything but practice squad players.

I believe
I support Anthony Mix getting some receptions and re-signing Caldwell. I thought he was clutch and reliable last year in limited action.

Mix Could be a Sleeper
POSITIVES: King-sized pass catcher who can be used at a variety of positions. Displays excellent adjustment to the throw, eye/hand coordination and makes the reception away from his frame. Quickly gets into breaks, staying low on exit, and shields away opponents with his frame. Strong, defeats jams and physically beats down opponents to make the catch. Solid position blocker down the field.
NEGATIVES: Marginally productive in college. Never known to be a hard worker.
ANALYSIS: Improving his game as a senior, Mix has potential as a slot receiver in the NFL or possibly at H-back. Must continue to progress and has the ability to be an active part of an NFL offense.
He could be one of the late bloomers who has now decided to take football seriously, he showed some deep commitment last year playing on special teams and was a thriller in Seattle.
