Inept at the Draft?

Now I don't know what the percentage of draft picks stay with there team for "x" amount of years or what percentage of one singular draft makes the team that specific year. So I took it upon myself to go back to Gibbs first year,2004 and work my way to the present day and see what "talent" we produced, kept ,or picks we just "biffed" on:

2004

  1. Sean Taylor, S, Miami (Fla.)-All world person/player, never met wish I did inspiration to us all.
  2. Chris Cooley, TE, Utah State-In my opinion best draft pick of Gibbs second stint. Maybe ever. Consider this, we didn't even have a 3rd round pick until we resigned FB Bryan Johnson and then traded him to the Bears for their 3rd round pick. Man is a player...on and of the field.
  3. Mark Wilson, OL, California-Biffed
  4. Jim Molinaro, OL, Notre Dame-Biffed
2005
  1. Carlos Rogers, CB, Auburn-showed flashes of being a shut down CB and also the ability to be made a Wr's bitch. Dropped INT's like Paris Hilton drops her pants. Last year was easily his best; unfortunately he got injured and will be out until maybe the middle of next season. Not sure how patient the staff will be with him.
  2. Jason Campbell, QB, Auburn-sat out rookie yr and started in the middle of '06, showed great physical skills but inability to make a game wining drive. Only played a year and half, in my opinion he DESERVES patients, especially at that position and with so many offensive coordinators. Many commenters' on the redskin insider page suggest we trade him, I SUGGEST they pick up a Redskin Encyclopedia and look up the last time we had a QB with these skills.
  3. Manuel White, Jr., RB, UCLA-Biffed
  4. Robert McCune, LB, Louisville-as a former army man I was rooting for this former army vet, however-Biffed
  5. Jared Newberry, LB, Stanford-Biffed
  6. Nehemiah Broughton, RB, the Citadel-Biffed
2006
  1. Rocky McIntosh, LB, Miami-Redskins criticized for this pick b/c they traded up to get him when many draft guru's said we would've fell to them. Held back for some reason during his rookie yr even though every coach said he was doing "fine". Came on this past season very strong but another serious injury casualty. I think he's going to be a great LB for the skins.
  2. Anthony Montgomery, DT, Minnesota-quiet rookie yr followed by promising sophomore season. Looks good to me.
  3. Reed Doughty, S, Northern Colorado-Special teams' demon who plays bigger than he is. I think he can be a starter in this league (did quite well last year especially how we became the starter),evidenced by the numerous reports from other GM's who said they'd pounce on him if released. Some work on coverage skills and he'll be fine.
  4. Kedric Golston, DT, Georgia-actually regressed (statistically anyway)Skins need young d-line help and this will be make or break year for him.
  5. Kili Lefotu, OL, Arizona-Biffed
  6. Kevin Simon, LB, Tennessee-Biffed
2007
1 LaRon Landry S LSU-I'm scared to type anything bad about him for fear I'll be put on some " to be Zorned list" He's awesome you know it and so does every Wr in the NFC east. Landry getting more disciplined is scary..I move on

5 Dallas Sartz OLB USC-Biffed

6 H.B. Blades OLB Pittsburgh-future L. Fletcher?

6 Jordan Palmer QB UTEP-biffed (no w/ big bro in Cincy)

7 Tyler Ecker TE University of Michigan-IR his rookie year but word out of Redskins Park is that he's transformed his body..is that good? like did he get a adamantium skeleton like wolverine? Because that would be awesome!

In my personal oppion, a player drafted by an NFL team and so such scouted by NFL personnel should at least make the practice squad. To the best of my knowledge a lot of our picks under round 3 did not do this. 2006 looks like our best draft under Gibbs 2.0 for depth alone. 2005 can be argued talent wise with the "Meast and Cpt Choas"

So who do we hold responsible and who do we commend? I'm looking forward to Zorn's input (and God I hope he has some) because a younger approach is needed.
