Draft Day Not Far Away

And I can't wait!  I've gotten more interested in the draft over the last couple seasons, and will be delving even deeper this year.

Star-divide

Last year, I kinda made myself the unofficial draft analysis guy (or was I just trying to hear myself talk...so to speak?) and I intend to provide lots of info again this year, time permitting.  As it is, I'm sincerely hoping that we pick up a nice, big WR this year in the first round-there is likely a guy in the second, I haven't really started researching yet.

As for the offseason, we can pick up a top-tier CB and show the ever-aging Springs the door.  If I read correctly, Marcus Trufant will be available, and I think he's about 27...Zorn would likely give him a look as he may have watched him through a QB's eyes whilst he was in SEA.

I officially nominate you
a Hogs Haven draft analysis guy. Admittedly I'm not a draft guru by any stretch of the imagination and so anticipate receiving plenty of help from reader(s) on what to post.

Make sure everyone checks out Mocking The Draft, our SB Nation NFL Draft blogger.

I've been the draft guy in the past...
not because I know anything, but because SP is good at delegating.

I had a post about a month ago and I am planning to follow up... I was waiting for the team to fill out the staff first.

I'd be interested to see what you come up with.

Oh, and by the way, I'm for a DL (specifically a DE) as the top need.

You can BOTH
be draft guys, because I do suck at it.

ha...
thanks.

Hey ya'll, if Randy Moss doesn't sign with the Pats (and he really should) how bout we get him?  (thinks) Naaaa.  There will be a few key possible FA WRs...any ideas?  JC really does need a true number 1 guy.

Peculiar starting for the off-season
Paitence will be a key, as the off-season is starting off with some LARGE releases of players.  I don't recall this from years past, Falcons and Dolphins, this should be a good market, for salary cap limited teams, with some excellent vertern players available.

I can see the team picking up...
1 veteran FA.  Sort of like what they did with Fletcher last year.  The Skins just don't have the cap room to go after a bunch of big names.

Maybe like a Wahle or something... but nothing major.

BUT with Dan Dan the Free Agent Signing Man back in control, who knows...

I'd like
to see them use the 1st rd pick on a pass rusher of some sorts. After that I'd like to see them draft for depth across the board. CB seems to be a postion that might be a major problem down the road. A big Wr would be nice but I think they're other pressing needs.

I suppose
that the reason why "other" is winning the vote is because we'd love to see an intimidating DE tandem-oh, how I'd love that!  I love sseing the skins getting sacks-brings tears to my defensive-minded eyes...(sniff).  I hope if we go that route, Anthony Mix steps up-a west coast with 5'9 WRs is a cluster waiting to happen.  I heard someone say that the day of the little WR is over...all your leading guys are 6-4 or 6-5...physical guys (except Moss...though he did get in there a few times with the Pats.)

The Giants convinced me
that a good defensive line is the greatest equalizer in football. A great defensive line does everything that good defenses are expected to do: it stops the run. It creates turnovers (hurries and sacks cause interceptions and fumbles), it creates third and distance situations (sacks) and it disrupts the opponent's passing game.
