Redskins decide winning is overrated
Congratulations to the Giants for hanging around while we imploded. Fumbles, missed tackles, and tripping pretty well defined the 2nd half and this loss. Full recap pending.

Why is Mike Sellers getting balls his way?
He's like freaking offensive lineman. There's no hope throwing it to him. Or giving him the ball at all. Stop it.

Talk about rolling over...
If I was a Giants fan, I'd be happy with the win but I wouldn't expect too many teams to hand them wins.
I'm so mad right now. I should have turned the game off at halftime. That was a pathetic 2nd half. ARE played well, the defense played pretty good considering they were on the field for what seemed like 85% of the second half.
The offense can't play like that and expect to keep their jobs... much less win.
I... I can't even express how bad that was.

Final two plays
It always seems like the most successful play down at the goal line is to spread out the D by going 4 wide and run it up the gut. I swear those jumbo bunch formations never work.

I don't have a problem with running...
Same formation, same personnel, same run. That just doesn't make any sense to me.
The Sellers play was a good design because the Giants thought the Skins would run out of that formation. I would have liked to see a bootleg or something that gives JC a run/pass option on the final play of the game.
Speaking of which, anyone know why Portis wasn't in?
That was the most frustrating drive: penalties, drops, bad passes. If it wasn't for ARE, the Skins would have turned it over on downs without even getting close to the endzone.
Just a bad, bad game.

this offense...reminds me of High School...
Al Saunders and his 700 page playbook. WHY?? what's in that book. i'm guessing it's 690 pages of running the ball up the gut. we have a young (seemingly mobile) QB with a cannon, TWO number one tailbacks, 3 (incredibly fast and presumably capable) receivers if you include the exiled Brandon Lloyd, and a defense that can dominate when on the field. So, why is it that every play is so predictably dull and inimaginative? The only deep balls we try are to Moss on 1st downs when everyone in the stadium--including the opposition--knows it as well.
Offenses work when there is deviation in gameplan. Predictability will doom every conservative offense.
2nd half:
how many 1st and 2nd downs did we try--and fail--to gain yards on the ground up the middle? It would end up being 3rd and long and the Giants knew to drop back, blitz at the line, and consequently thwart the Skins' efforts. Also, why does it seem like everytime the Skins' need 8 yards for the first down, they run a quick 6 yard pattern? That's not how you move the chain.
The Portis fumble...if you always run the ball, the fumbles will happen. Although he clearly messed up the hand off, i'm sure the pressure of the constant running into a wall was making him try to pound the middle a bit faster and harder.
Santana Moss is a big time receiver. Randle El is a big time playmaker. Campbell has the arm that QB's pray for. So, why not take some chances? If the drive fails, at least the opposition has the fear of a deep ball and aggressive style and one would then hope that the D can hold up. If the Redskins don't deviate from their current offensive strategies, this season will be very long. The parts of this offense are way too dynamic to play this way. If Gibbs doesn't grow some balls, this team will end up averaging 15points/game and will be sub .500 again. I can't deal with that
my frosh yr JV team took more chances that this team and our playbook would've have filled up a legal pad page! GET IT TOGETHER!!!!!

Bad Coaching
And don't get me started on that brutal two minute drill. They had PLENTY of time (they actually needed to kill clock) but for some reason kept wasting time outs and spiking the ball.
We have the most expensive coaching staff in the league but they seem to be our number 1 weakness so far.
I have to agree with the thoughts above about taking more chances downfield. If anything, Campbell's strength is the long ball and if they just start putting it up there more they are bound to come down with a good percentage of them (especially considering almost all of our receiver's are deep threats).

LOTS of bad play calling
We need possesion receiver(s) to step up or we need to find one, quickly! 1 and 2 are not physically big enough to cut it.
We cant expect our line to bowl over every team, they did a good job in the first half. The passing game must improve for when this will undoubtetly happen. With the right side of our line missing, receivers who can catch shorter to medium passes are missing from our team.
