LaRon Landry hasn't let money change him

The NFL announced that LaRon Landry will join Philadelphia Eagle LaJuan Ramsey in fine payments:

Landry was fined $16,764 for roughing the passer, specifically making helmet-to-helmet contact with New York Jets quarterback Kellen Clemens on Sunday.
The rule broken:
"Using any part of a player's helmet (including the top/crown and forehead/hairline? parts) or facemask to butt, spear, or ram an opponent violently or unnecessarily; although such violent or unnecessary use of the helmet is impermissible against any opponent, game officials will give special attention in administering this rule to protect those players who are in virtually defenseless postures."
LaRon Landry was simply devastated:
"I believe if he wouldn't have ducked, I wouldn't have got the penalty," said Landry, who had expected to be fined. "I'm not going to stop performing the way I perform, or stop my intensity, my style of play. I'm not going to do that."
I don't like the idea of getting roughing the passer fines -- and I support protecting players -- but I don't think Landry was intentionally trying to harm someone and he plays physical football. The reason we drafted him so high is because he plays physical football. I'd modify a lot of my behavior for 16,764 dollars. I'm glad he won't.

What an odd number?
I wonder why it was specifically $16,764 and not just 16 or 17k?

One game
salary. I still don't know why it comes out to that much since 16,764 times 16 (or even 17, if by week) doesn't come out to his base salary.
