Around SBN: Bracketology 2012: Duke Finally Steps Up To The No. 1 Line

OPEN THREAD: Redskins host Detroit

Sorry, almost forgot to put this up. Score is nothing to nothing right now, though Jason Campbell looks DAMN sharp passing the ball 4 times already to Antwaan Randle El. 9 of 11 for 69 yards. Redskins are marching.

Post all your thoughts, hopes, dreams, and recipes below.

The Skins have been eating up the clock...
DET's offense looks out of sorts, and my babbling about TOP looks like... well, babbling.

GW is only rushing 4.  I expected a heavy dose of blitzing but he's getting serious pressure with the front 4.

ARE looks like Moss out there.  Running around open, catching ball, and making people miss.

Except for a weird, direct snap to Portis that no one seemed to be ready for to put the drive out of field goal range, the Skins have dominated the game.

They need to put points up.  DET can score in bunches.

P.S.  Sellers is a monster.

Defense playing great...
apparently another turnover with about 1:39 left in the 2nd.  Another score here would make me feel easier.  Especially after the NYG 2nd half collapse and the Lions 4th quarter record-setting point total against the Bears.

Booth review of the fumble.  It was obviously a fumble with a great angle on the T.V. broadcast.

Oh, but Rocky put his hand out.  It looks like he re-establishes himself, but I don't trust it.  I think we're about to get hosed.

Right now, 14-0.

P.S.  Sellers is a monster.

4th and 9...
1:30 left and a punt.

Fair catch at 1:22 and on the 16ish yard line.

So we lost about 40 yards and 20 seconds because the officials can't watch T.V. correctly.

Give me the HD, I won't waste it like they do.

Campbell...
16 for 19, 171 yards and a TD.  I'll take that every time.

As a contrast, Kitna is 5 for 11, 31 yards with 2 sacks.  He's been getting knocked around on almost every passing play.

It's halftime and ARE has 100 yards...
recieving on 7 catches.

14-0.  DET gets the ball to start the second half.

Some notes...
ARE apparently hurt himself on that last pass that led to Sellers' TD run.  Not good.

McCardell got his 1st action, and first catch of the year, for a 1st down.

DET is 0 for 5 on 3rd down.

Sellers has gotten the ball a lot more, and not always at FB.  He's gotten 2 carries from the RB position.

JC looks good.  He's spreading the ball around.  Most of that is because the )-Line has gotten him time all day.

Suisham missed his 2nd field goal of the year.  6 for 8 on the year.

More notes...
1:23 left in the 3rd and DET is still under 100 yards of total offense.

Brandon Lloyd gets his 1st catch of the year... after McCardell, who was signed since the last game.  He's fallen real far down ye ol' depth chart.

Another review, another hose job.

As of 3:10 pm EST, JC is the leading passer in terms of yeards in the NFL.

I haven't heard about ARE... I hope it's not serious.  The offense will be seriously lacking any deep threat if both ARE and Moss are out for extended periods of time.

Thrash has been getting the punt return duties.  He's no ARE, but he's been doing a pretty decent job.  Gibbs will let him be a Redskin until his legs fall off.

As I'm typing, another sack of Kitna... for a safety.  Andre "I eat babies for breakfast" Carter gets the 2 points.  Credit a good decision by Gibbs to punt and yet another good punt from Frosty.  I am officially on the Derrick Frost for Punter bandwagon.

16-3.

P.S.  In McCardell's 1st game, he has twice as many catches as Lloyd... and no drops.

P.S.S.  Sellers is still a monster.

Buffalo Chicken Pizza
Boboli pizza crust, Tyson's pre-cooked chicken cubes, two tablespoons melted butter, bottle of hot sauce, blue cheese dressing, mozz cheese, case of beer. Combined chicken, butter, hotsauce. Throw that shit on the crust. Top with the cheese. Cook 15 mins on 425. Drink the beer, get fat, celebrate victory. Hail.

PS
Use the blue cheese dressing as the sauce, in case you couldn't sort that one out. Enjoy.
