Byron Westbrook snubbed, John Eubanks gets job instead

Per Redskins Insider:

CB John Eubanks said he just signed his contract and is on the active roster from the practice squad.
Skins could sign a LB to the practice squad today as well.
Which means that Byron Westbrook remains on the practice squad despite all the great noise we heard about him, and his family relationship to a very talented NFC East foe, indefinitely. 2nd string practice squad is pretty far removed from making the roster. It's also interesting that we're adding a LB to the practice squad. As of this moment we have six of them, though Marcus Washington has been injured a bit. That said, we spend a lot of time in 4-2-5 sets where we only play two linebackers. In any event, I'll keep you posted if our newest scout member is anyone of consequence.

On John Eubanks:

Eubanks made his NFL debut with the Redskins on Dec. 30, 2006, in a game against the New York Giants...He saw action in a reserve role at cornerback...Eubanks was signed to the Redskins' active roster on Dec. 27, 2006, after spending the entire season on the team's practice squad...He originally signed with the Redskins as an undrafted free agent in May 2006...While at Southern Mississippi, he set the all-time Conference USA kickoff return average record at 26.4 yards return...Also ranks second all-time on the career yards per return list with 2,321 yards and tied for second in kickoff return touchdowns with two...Ranks first all-time on Southern Mississippi's career kickoff returns list with 88...Ranks third all-time on the school's career kickoff return average list with an average of 26.4 yards per return...
I'm just thinking out loud here but with Rock Cartwright injured perhaps we could give this guy a chance on kickoff returns? By the way, how do you set the Conference USA all time kickoff return average record with 26.4, but you're only 3rd in your team's history? Has Southern Mississippi changed conferences enough for that to make sense?

C-USA has only been around since 1995...
So, that's a lot of football in the past outside the 12 or so years in C-USA.
