Defensive end Ron McDole became a Redskin in 1971 and was a charter member of the team's "Over The Hill Gang." That group was part of Redskin team's that made the playoffs five times in the 1970s, including an appearance in Super Bowl VII.
George Starke was an original "Hog," the Washington Redskins famed offensive line from the first Joe Gibbs coaching era. He was also the "Head Hog" because of his seniority on that line.
Mike Nelms played for the Redskins for 5 seasons from 1980-84. He was the premier kick returner in the NFL during that period.
