Odd Man out... Who will IT be..?
Our QB situation is beginning to sound like something out of a soap opera. I'm talking about the real World, it has been something of a soap opera on this site for a while.
What we know right now is that we have Jason Campbell ( He isnt Christ just cause his initals are JC...LJP), Rex "The Hex" Grossssssman, and Colt Brennan on the roster for the time being. With that said, there is a lot back ground chatter going on about the three top rookie prospects in the draft. What we know is that Tim " The Saint" Tebow and Sam Bradford are not coming here for workouts. We also know that Jimmy Clausen was swooned over by Danny boy and the VINmyster a few months back.
The plays made towards the rookies could all be political. It could all be draft postering with a few tricks up the sleeve. If it is'nt. If they do intend on grabbing one of these rookies who will be the QB that gets the cut.
Only the FO knows for sure what plays they are going to make but I am posing a question to you all.. What if they have a team wanting to bite on Campbells tender? If one of those teams that were considering the use of a #1 pick for a QB are considering the trade for a veteran instead. Im not saying that this is what will happen but it would be a cheaper choice for a team than paying multi millions for an unsure draft pick that they will be stuck with. At least with Campbell they know what they are getting.
Or will it be Colt or Rex? Will one of them be cut after the preseason games if we do draft a rookie. Who knows...
I personally DON'T like any of the three ROOKIEs...
One thing for sure is that what ever the team looked like last year, for better or worse, will not look at all like the same team this year. All I have to say to that is THANK GOD!!!!

#4 Overall: Probably the Worst Position to be in Draft Day
I've been making my sweep around, looking at all kinds of mock drafts, seeing who the experts think Washington is gonna draft. I've seen a number of thoughts, but I just started realizing that we probably have the worst draft pick in the draft. With St. Louis appearing to go after Bradford and Detroit taking a liking to Okung, we are losing the only two picks that would make sense from a needs perspective. While I am not Bradford fan, we could have reacted to the situation, traded Campbell for a pick or two/a LT and made due. But look at us now: if Tampa Bay takes Suh, we are probably in the worst possible scenario. With only a few possibilities, the Skins may have a tough decision to make.

Tim Tebow Caught Having Sex With A Prostitute ?
Ok, to start off no this has not happened yet. But, if and when "the quarterback Jesus" that is Tim Tebow falters , what will the football universe think? Will he be ran through the ringer like Tiger Woods, or given a free pass and a job like Mark Macqwire? For those of you on here that despise everything that is "LJP" but adore Tim "qb Jesus" Tebow get a life. For those that figured out the " LJP" thing is just a schtick (I think I spelled that right ) good job. Part of what I do is just a attempt at satire. Now back to Tebow, what bothers me about T. Tebow is he really believes what he says. This man honestly thinks he can walk on water, save the whales, end all wars, cure aids and leap tall buildings in a single bound like super man.
Can you guys imagine having this guy in Washington? He will be leading marches on a monthly basis down Penn Ave. We will be spending more time on HH talking about the Tebow protest/ march of the month, then L. Landry getting burnt. in coverage. Is it me or is he a little over the top with the "God Bless" thing. He says "God Bless" to any and everything and question asked of him. A reporter will ask him what type of cereal he likes. Of course we all know the answer to that question ( wheaties ) since it is "the breakfast of champions." But of course he will follow that answer with "God Bless." He responds with "God Bless" even after answering a question about his shoe size. This to me is really annoying. By the way, he is already talking about his life outside of football, and using football as his platform for bigger things. (what does this really mean?)
If T. Tebow is such a great guy, why does he not give his invitation to attend the draft to a real first round pick? I would be pizzed if I were a real 1st rd pick and did not get to go, but Tebow was invited. They only invited 18 players and we all know, Tebow will not be drafted nearly that high. If any Gm were to draft Tebow that high, they would not have their job very long.

Should the Redskins sign Shawn Andrews?
I trust the Eagles scouting dept when it comes to evaluating O-line talent. They have had a pretty solid O-line for the last decade. they seem to have the talent, that when 1 guy moves on, they just fill the spot from within. Now I know they have added some FA's on the O-line(Peters last year being the most noticable), but they do a very nice job of drafting and developing talent.
I know Shawn Andrews has had back problems, and I know he's a complete headcase, but when he's healthy, and not singing Show Tunes in the locker room, he is a hell of a player. Now, I don't know how he will check out medically, but he has already said he plans on playing again, so i'm believing the back has got to be getting better.
If he checks out medically, I'd take him any day of the week. He can play either G position and also RT. What a huge upgrade he would be to our line.............if he is healthy.
So, how would you feel about the Big Kid as a Redskin?

The Overrated Tim Tebow Workout Needs To Get Florida University Put On Probation

Jon Gruden does not work for free. Ask ESPN , who seems to have anointed their next Brett Farve to shove down our throats on a continuous loop.
Isn't Tim Tebow is still legally a college football player?
How did Tebow afford to have Gruden prepare him for Florida Universirty's Pro Day?
You know Gruden did not take an I.O.U. from Tebow for "services rendered".
Who paid for Gruden? How about the Gator boosters? It seems pretty obvious someone other than Tebow footed the Gruden bill?
Will it be investigated? Most likely not. You won't hear a whimper of this discussed by ESPN's "journalists", but you better believe they might if Gruden worked for FOX Sports.
The NCAA Committee is as dirty as the workout that was perpetrated yesterday. Payola, or "hush money", was fed to all the proper pockets so everyone will blindly accept things "as is".
What did we learn from the workout? That Tebow still has no arm, and should think about throwing the ball with his right hand over his left.Even in the current rules that caters to quarterbacks and makes the NFL's chosen divas jobs much easier year to year.
As he got tired, the ball lollipopped more and more. The accuracy waned. ESPN valiantly tried to keep their cameras on him instead of the ball, except for a few of his earlier passes on the most simple of routes. The verdict stayed the same ultimately, despite Gruden's "unbiased" ESPN report that Tebow was a future starter. The guy is no more than a project.
What we really learned is dirty money is flowing in the Sunshine State. Now we truly see why Florida gets all the top recruits and will continue to do so. Kids will see that the school will pay for top experts to teach them to be better players without any expense to them. The Gator's will foot the bill, along with the usual housing, clothing, vehicle, female companionship bills they typically take care of for all of their players.
Florida University has blatantly officially taken football recruiting to another level, and the NCAA will gladly follow blindly with stuff wallets continuously fed by the boosters of the school.
ESPN's faux pas journalism will continue to shove your next hero down your throats as long as you tune in. Favre's name is mentioned every 20 minutes on all channels because of legal obligation. It reeks of reminiscence of the "Devil And Daniel Webster".
Now that Brett finally appears to have one last year to wear slovenly on America's conscious, they have the next Golden Boy in waiting. So confident they are in their investment, they sent "Chucky" to teach the kid to look the part of NFL QB.
Part of this madness might be because of draft day. Tebow has to be the first third round prospect ever to be invited to sit in the green room during the draft. If you were utterly sickened by having to watch a constant close up of the crying Brady Quinn for 22 rounds in 2007, get ready to puke at 70+ rounds of watching Tebow wait for the call on April 22nd.
ESPN is ready. Are you? They have plenty of tape from his days in college on the projector to get ready to shove down your consciousnesses as the already written scripts are ready for their "experts" to lament for several hours as to why he hasn't been drafted yet.
Any team that drafts him before the third round needs their heads examined because Tebow is quite simply a poor man's Bobby Douglass.
Unlike Tebow, Douglass had a good, strong arm. Like Tebow, Douglass was a left-hander with accuracy issues his entire career.
Bobby Douglass spent nine years in the NFL between 1969 - 1978, and was a full time starter in two seasons. His best season was in 1972 with the Chicago Bears, and it is not remembered because of his arm. He ran for an then-NFL record 968 yards that year on 141 carries, leading the NFL with a 6.9 yards per carry average. He ran the ball in for eight scores, while tossing a career best nine more scores against 12 interceptions.
Ultimately, he threw 36 touchdowns against 64 interceptions for his career. His yards rushing record for a quarterback was surpassed by 71 yards in 2006 by Michael Vick, though it took two extra games on the schedule to break it. Douglass was drafted in the second round, but you can bet the farm his Alma Mater Kansas University never paid for a coach to come in for six weeks to try to improve his draft stock.
If they had, the NCAA would have put them on probation because they have a set list on who can buy off their silence. Florida is on it, and Kansas never has been. In football. Basketball is a completely different story. Whomever makes them the most cash in each sport has the best chance to line the NCAA pockets and zip their lips with a nodding off acceptance.
If the NCAA or ESPN were legitimate entities, then Florida would thoroughly be investigated to see who bought Jon Gruden. ESPN would have their employee cooperate with the investigation, then break the story when the proper culprits are exposed.
But this will not happen, so just go to sleep and blindly accept the constantly shifting rules. It is exactly what is expected of you.
Did I Do Good ESPN?

Dream Draft
Not hoping to make this into a huge post/deal but here is my dream draft-list for the skins this year (number corresponds to round):
1. Russel Okung OT
2. Vlad Ducasse OG
4. Dan Lafevour QB
5. Myron Rolle S (maybe won't drop this far, but he's a genius and was the best player out of high school his year)
7. Joique Bell RB (also might not be available, but he was a D-II player I believe so it's possible)
Anyways, I'm no expert by any means, but I just wanted to see what the faithful had to say -- this is the first year I have really even paid attention to the draft past the first round.

Franchise Players
I'm running this as a series across the SB Nation NFL blogs. Five most important players to the franchise. Just one catch: they must be with the team for the long term (four years or more).
In no order:

What does the Grossman signing mean?
Redskins sign QB Rex Grossman: http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=AhEg3XTIVVjTNP0y92cm32c5nYcB?slug=ap-redskins-grossman
To me, this can only lead to one of two outcomes:
1) The Skins are not drafting Jimmy Clausen. He'd get starter money, JC is at least lower-tier starting quality, and they didn't bring in Grossman to be a #3 QB. Grossman was Shanahan's #2 in Houston, and he's not gonna sign on now to be his #3. There isn't room on the roster for all three. I like this scenario.
2) The Skins are going to deal Campbell and draft Clausen. If we're gonna draft Clausen, we're gonna ditch JC. Not sure if someone thinks he's worth a first round tender, or if we'd have to sign and deal him for a #2. And if we ditch JC, I don't see our staff going into the season with Grossman starting and a low rounder or low level FA as the backup. I don't really like this scenario because I think Clausen will suck. But if he turns out good and we get extra picks, it's a great decision.
There's always the possibility of something else happening, but I feel, with pretty good certainty, that Grossman's signing means that we're going to follow one of these two scenarios.
What do you guys think?
