Caldwell and McCardell

Does anyone else hope we really resign these guys? I honestly think Caldwell may be our #3 receiver we were looking for. I think he's awesome. McCardell at #4 is nothing to frown about, and if we add one more guy in the draft in later rounds, I think we have a pretty good WR corps. Thoughts?

Moss, ARE, Caldwell, Cooley, Portis on 3rd down? I like those odds. Zorn made it work with Branch, Engram, Hackett and Stevens/whoever their TE was last year.

McCardell is still underrated -- and I'll take him at 38 over a lot of WR's in the league.

Please re-sign them!!!

ESPN's bottom line...
said Collins resigned but I can't find a story.  Even Jason La Ca doesn't have it yet, so I don't know if it is "official" or not.

I Like
Caldwell and McCardell. In my eyes they were underutilized. From what I hear they're also good route runners. Age is the only question I guess.

Quiet FA but Caldwell could come back
According to reports, Cerrato says he would like to re-sign Rock Cartwright The team has also approach WR Reche Caldwell about returning to the team.

McCardell
Has great hands, but is Campbell is our long term answer, he needs guys he can expect to play for 3 or 4 more years (barring contractual stuff).  Reche Caldwell is 27 or 28, so I think is a good option at number 3 unless he is pushed by Mix or McMullen.  I can do Thrash as the number 5 or possible 4.  He valuable on special teams, and will go over the middle.  I reviewed the general draft list of guy that will likely go the first day, and there are TONS of WRs...even guys 6'2" and better...so we don't need to press that anymore. FA wise, I think we should keep silent, the more I look, the more I beleive we can fill our positions with capable rookies.

Javon Walker?
He got released today. I'd love to give him a shot!

Not so
much because he's up there in age and of his past injury concerns. He'll want a lot money. Of the FA's out there I'd think DJ Hackett is the best choice.
