Biggest game of the year? Definitely. The Redskins can secure the NFC East championship with a win today, and go from worst to first for the first time since the last time they went to the playoffs in 2012. That season was lead by rookie phenoms Robert Griffin III and Alfred Morris. This year the Redskins are captained by Kirk Cousins in his first year starting every game of the season.
The Redskins enter the game as the team dealing with the most injuries, going on the road where they have not been successful, and playing a division rival who has been inconsistent, but still alive in the division race. The Redskins have momentum on their side coming into tonight's game with a two game winning streak, a QB who has vastly improved as the season has progressed, and with a team that knows they are one step away from being in the playoffs.
The Eagles are coming off an embarrassing 40-17 loss to the Arizona Cardinals last week. This was their third game this year where they allowed 40+ points while scoring 17 or less. Their defense will be without several key players in Byron Maxwell and Bennie Logan, and their offense has been inconsistent every week. This game is hard to predict due to the nature of the NFC East this year, and the way the teams have performed this season. A primetime victory on the road will do a lot to boost the confidence of the fans, Kirk Cousins, and the entire team.
