We should support changing the name when the Red Mesa High School Redskins change their name

Almost everyone has spoken for the Native Americans. They want the name Redskins removed from the Washington Redskins. They say it is offensive to Native Americans. In their Trademark case they said 30% of Native Americans are against the name Redskins. That is a huge number. Unfortunately, the one judge who voted for the trademark registration said that they failed to bring any evidence to support their claim of 30% of Native Americans are offended. Zero proof. Just a number they through out there and 2 judges went along with them. Welcome to the new american judicial system where proof is not necessary. Ideology rules especially when it involves political correctness.

The Oneida group with their casinos is getting a huge windfall of free advertisement with the Redskins name. It is becoming comical. I totally disregard anything they have to say on this matter.

The one group that I will listen to is the 3 High Schools located on American Indian Reservations whose nickname is the Redskins. They are not offended by the name. They are proud to call each other Redskins. The other 59 high schools around the country with the nickname Redskins I am not worried about. I am sure at some point they will get pressured to change their name.

At these 3 reservations are laws that pretty much tell the Governor and State Government to mind their own business when it comes to the Reservations.

So if and when the Red Mesa Redskins decide that the name Redskins is offensive and change it, then I will support the folks who want to change the Washington Redskins name. Until then..........
