Redskins Draft Outlook after Round 1

With the first round of the NFL draft now complete, it is time to examine the Redskins options at 34. The Redskins could go a few directions with the 34th pick. The most obvious pick would be offensive line, with Players like Morgan Moses, Joel Bitonio, Cyrus Kouandjio, and Xavier Su'a‑Filo. The Redskins could use upgrades along the offensive line, especially at right tackle, so all these picks would make sense.

As far as the defensive side of the ball, the first round had a record number of defensive backs selected (9). This resulted in prospects like Jimmie Ward, Deone Bucannon, and Bradley Roby who could have been potential fits at 34 to be out of the Redskins reach.

The Redskins could still go defense with their second round selection. Players like Chris Borland, Stephen Tuitt, Ra'Shede Hageman, Jeremiah Attaochu, Kony Ealy, and Timmy Jernigan are all available heading into the second round. You can never have enough pass rushers, and adding younger depth to the defensive line would also make sense.

The Redskins have options at 34, and whether they elect to select an offensive tackle, guard, or a pass rusher the Redskins should be able to find an instant contributor at 34. As far as my opinion, I if it’s offensive line, I like Morgan Moses. If the pick happens to be a defensive player, Ra’Shede Hageman is a very raw player who has a lot of upside. Kony Ealy is another player who was not anticipated to be available in the second round the Redskins might take a look at.

With the options the Redskins will have available at 34, it will come down to whatever player the Redskins view as the best player available. The selection will be whoever the highest ranked player on their board is, well see tomorrow who that player will be.
