Hazard's Huddle: Jay Gruden's TDs in 2013 (Week 13)

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

An All-22 film breakdown of the Bengal's offensive scoring plays from 2013. They will be broken down into as many posts as it takes.

Continuing the "Jay Gruden's TD in 2013" series, the Bengals had a BYE in Week 12 so lets take a look at Week 13:

Week 13 win vs. San Diego Chargers (2 TDs)

#1. 2nd and 2. 23 Personnel (2 RB, 3 TE). This is a simple 35 Power. Domata Peko playing FB again and the backside guard is pulling into the hole.

While Peko and backside guard lead the way, the two TEs on the right side are going to block down hard.

As Benjarvis Green-Ellis gets to the hole, he sees the giant cutback lane that his team has former for him.

BJGE gets into the end zone for the easy touchdown.

#2. 2nd and 8. Andy Dalton is going to throw the seam route to A.J. Green coming from the bottom of the screen.

This is an absolute busted coverage. THREE defenders follow Jermaine Gresham on the out route. On top of that, the safety on that side also takes an outside shade.

Only player who might have had a chance was S Eric Weddle but he is occupied by the corner route being run towards the end zone.

AJ Green catches the touchdown pass with very little resistance.

I know Jay Gruden has said they'll be sticking to the Zone-Run game but it'll be interesting to see just how much Power scheme they implement. Even Kyle Shanahan ran power a few times. In Cincy, it was very successful for Jay so I dont think he'll abandon it completely.

What can you say about the second TD? Totally busted coverage. San Diego left the Bengals biggest playmaker alone. I will say this, good teams make these plays while other teams have players running free and miss it. We will see which one Jay Gruden turns this team into.
