Over the last several days in the NFL world, one thing has started to become clear: The Philadelphia Eagles and the their Pro Bowl wide receiver DeSean Jackson are headed for a divorce.
There are reports that the Eagles are actively seeking a trade, but with Jackson's hefty salary and reported lack of interest in a more cap-friendly structure, they may end up releasing him. And soon.
Currently on their roster, the Redskins have Pierre Garcon, Andre Roberts, Leonard Hankerson, Santana Moss, Aldrick Robinson, David Gettis, Josh Bellamy, and Nick Williams at wide receiver. Garcon led the NFL in receptions last year with 113 and had 1.346 yards and 5 TD's. Andre Roberts was brought in this offseason as a free agent and is slated to be starter opposite him. However, after that, the receiver positions is very much a question mark with Hankerson's inability to stay healthy, Moss' age(34) and Robinson's lack of progress last season. Gettis, Bellamy and Williams have produced little in the league are not locks to make the roster this year.
Last season, Jackson had 82 receptions for 1,332 yards and 9 TD's. In his six-year NFL career, he has 356 receptions for 6,117 yards and 32 TD's.
So the question is this Redskins fans: If he were to become available, would you want him in the Burgundy and Gold?
