Height: 6'1", Weight: 204 lbs.
Strengths: Zimmerman has good size which will work well for him at the next level. His is intelligent. He is also excellent at reading routes and reading the quarterback's eyes. His strength is in the zone defense. He takes good angles and tackles well. In 2013 Zimmerman had 75 tackles (three for losses), and three interceptions. He consistently puts himself in good positions to make plays. He also has a lot of special teams experience.
Weaknesses: Zimmerman's speed is one of his biggest weaknesses. He is not fast. His lateral movement is also below average. All of this means he has to make sure he is in the right position to make a play.
Bottom Line: Ty Zimmerman is an intelligent football player. He will have to use this to overcome some of his athletic shortcomings. He should be a good addition to any team.
Projected Round: 7-FA
Team He Fits Best On: Redskins, Cowboys, Packers
