Height: 6' 4", Weight: 242 lbs
Strengths: Lyerla is a physical specimen. He's a great athlete with fantastic hand-eye coordination. He is quick and agile. He can operate well in space. His 40-yard dash is clocked at 4.6 seconds. He creates separation from defenders with his strength and has excellent hands. He's a very good blocker and keep his legs moving through blocks and tackles.
Weaknesses: For all the positives, Lyerla has his share of serious negatives. He is not a great route runner. He also has off the field issues. He quit the Ducks on October 6th of 2013 for something head coach Mark Helfrich called "circumstances". On October 11th, Colt had his driver's license suspended after receiving four tickets in less than 24 months. On October 23rd of the same year, he was arrested for using cocaine. He has been characterized as "overly emotional and prone to outbursts" on NFL.com.
Bottom Line: Colt Lyerla has all the physical attributes necessary to be an impact player in the NFL. His off the field issues have, at times, caused scouts to consider him undraftable.
Projected Round: 7-FA
Team He Fits Best On: Packers, Falcons, Bills, Buccaneers
