Darryl Sharpton was profiled in our Hogs Haven GM: ILB Edition:
5. Darryl Sharpton, Houston Texans
Age: 26
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 235 lbs
Another LB who is better against the run than in coverage. Sharpton has had his share of injuries during his career with the Texans. He replaced Brian Cushing this year after he was placed on IR. He was active for 15 games, and started 8, recording 87 tackles, 1 pass defended, and 1 forced fumble. Chris Cooley recently mentioned him as an underrated free agent linebacker to look at in free agency. If Sharpton can stay healthy, he is a young player who should come cheaply due to his limited starting time and injury history.
32(6% of the vote) crafty members of Hogs Haven figured out that the Redskins free agency strategy involved low key, relatively cheap signings to fill out the roster. Sharpton is a solid signing and will compete to play alongside Perry Riley this season. He did a fine job for the Texans last season.
Take two: LB Darryl Sharpton agrees to terms on a one-year deal with Washington, per league source. Worth up to $2 million.
