A.C. Leonard
Tight End
Height: 6' 2", Weight: 252 lbs
Tennessee State
Strengths: A.C. Leonard has good speed. He releases quickly and separates himself from defenders. His 40-yard dash time was 4.43 seconds at the Combine. He has soft hands and good balance. He can also get yards after the catch. Leonard has good balance and uses it to make some tough catches.
Weaknesses: Leonard is another player who began his college days with the Florida Gators and finished with another program due to personal issues. He was arrested twice in 2012. The first arrest was for misdemeanor battery in an altercation with his girlfriend. The second arrest was for driving under the influence. In addition to personal issues, he has trouble being overpowered by defenders. This leads to marginal blocking and less than sharp route running. He also has a tendency to carry the ball away from his body, which leads to fumbles.
Bottom Line: Leonard is fast. He has good hands. He does not block well and has personal issues. Teams must decide if he is worth the risk. There are better tight ends available.
Projected Round: 7-FA
Team He Fits Best On: Raiders, Bills, Patriots
