Seahawks show Redskins the light - You win with hungry role players and, of course, Defense

The Seahawks win in the Super Bowl should show the Redskins how to win in today's NFL - get hungry role players and, of course, a great defense.

First, getting hungry role players should not be hard. The Redskins have a few hungry role players like Alfred Morris. But on defense who? Bruce Allen, or whoever is calling the shots, have shown an inability to get cheap role players who overachieve. Scour every available player and don't just look at their talent.

Look at the Seahawk's WRs. Kearse, Baldwin, Harvin all household names? Not really. Garcon, Reed and, possibly, Hankerson all have more talent. But no real role players.

The biggest myth right now is you need a truly elite QB to win a title. Russell Wilson is a nice player. Joe Flacco is pretty good. But the best of the best? No way. And they just won the last 2 titles.

Now, getting a defense like Seattle in 1 offseason may be asking for too much. But with a decent draft and some key offseason moves, getting better (or even respectable) is not out of the question. Just don't go after the pricey overpaid stars. Get hungry role players on defense.

Seattle has shown Washington the way. They just need to do it.
