Another injury report regular has landed on injured reserve today. The Redskins announced that SS Brandon Meriweather's toe injury will end his season two weeks early. Meriweather missed the last two games due to the injury.
Two other Redskins defenders have been ruled out of this week's game. Backup OLB Gabe Miller has missed practice all week due to an ankle injury and will now miss tomorrow's game against the Eagles.
Jason Hatcher missed his first game of the season last week due to a knee injury that has been flaring up over the last few weeks. Hatcher told the Washington Post that he feared the injury could shut him down for the final two games of the season. If Hatcher's first season with the Redskins is over, he will end it with 25 tackles, 5.5 sacks, and 1 pass defended. The Redskins expected higher production from Hatcher this season after "blowing his doors" off with a 4 year $27.5 million contract to improve their pass rush. Hatcher had a knee scope after signing that caused him to miss offseason work, and has also dealt with various injuries during the season.
"Sometimes you have to be real with yourself, man," Hatcher said. "I played through a lot this year. I gave it all I had, so you just got to evaluate the situation the best you can and make the right decision, so that's what I'm doing at this point. ... It's just being smart about what's going on and how to attack this situation."
Starting ILB Keenan Robinson will probably miss his 3rd game in a row due an MCL sprain. He has been limited in practice all week, and is listed as doubtful for tomorrow's game.
The big name on offense is LT Trent Williams who left last week's game against the Giants with a shoulder injury. He didn't practice Wednesday as expected, and returned for limited participation the last two days. Williams will play unless his leg/arm/shoulder/head has actually fallen off his body.
Everyone else on this week's list is probable for tomorrow's game. Roy Helu, Jr. looks to return to the lineup after missing last week's game with a toe injury. He was replace by the combination of Silas Redd, Jr. and the recently promoted Chris Thompson who scored his first career touchdown.
