Kirk Olivadotti returns to Redskins | Comcast SportsNet Washington
Jay Gruden has reportedly hired Kirk Olivadotti as an assistant coach, according to the Macon Telegraph. Olivadotti was an assistant for the Redskins from 2000-2010 but has spent the past three seasons at Georgia as the Bulldogs’ inside linebackers coach.
Redskins’ Joshua Morgan says Mike Shanahan wouldn’t meet with him
"Honestly and truly, that’s something I couldn’t really answer, because I have no clue," Morgan said. "A lot of my teammates didn’t understand why, didn’t have a clue. My family, nobody had a clue what happened. … I’m gonna just leave it at that. Nobody has any idea. I definitely don’t have a clue. I’m still clueless. And before those guys left, I would have loved a real explanation. I just wanted to understand why, but you can’t cry over [spilled] milk. They put me in a tough situation and I gotta overcome adversity all over again, so I’m gonna just leave it at that."
Redskins hire former Terp Brian Baker to coach outside linebackers
Baker held the same position with the Browns in 2013. Prior to that, he coached the Cowboys’ defensive linemen and outside linebackers in 2011 and 2012. Baker also has had coaching stints with the Carolina Panthers, St. Louis Rams, Minnesota Vikings, Detroit Lions and San Diego Chargers.
Redskins hire Jets special teams coach Ben Kotwica [updated]
The Jets last season ranked among the top 10 in the NFL in kickoff return yards and 17th on kickoff coverage. Washington is coming off of a disaster of a season on special teams, ranking among the worst in the league both on kickoff and punt coverage.
Since Mike Shanahan was fired the day after the season ended, there has been very little to get excited about. I had no problems with Mike Shanahan not coming back for 2014 mainly because it was at a point where he couldn't. So he is gone and time to move on.
