Height: 5’11", Weight: 193 lbs.
San Diego State
Strengths: In his senior season, Berhe recorded 99 tackles (60 solo), 1 sack, and 6 passes defended. Nat is an instinctive safety that reads the quarterback well and he has natural coverage skills. He has quick feet, accelerates well, and makes clean tackles in the open field.
Weaknesses: Berhe’s size is his biggest limitation. He also lacks pure speed, relying more on his instincts and quickness. His timing against taller defenders, where he is required to leap, is not always correct. Nat can get burned on deeper routes when fast receivers and he has a tendency to draw pass interference flags.
Bottom Line: Nat Berhe was a productive safety in the MAC, but he may have some trouble going up against the receivers in the NFL. Nat is a player that always gives it his all, but you cannot coach speed. He will also have to prove his size will not limit him in the NFL.
