Redskins sign kicker John Potter, will travel with team on Sunday vs. Packers

Brad Mills-USA TODAY Sports

The Redskins will welcome back kicker John Potter back to the roster, who will suit-up for the team on Sunday versus the Packers.

According to CSN Washington's Tarik El-Bashir, the Redskins have signed kicker John Potter and he will make the trip with the team to Green Bay to face the Packers.

Incumbent kicker Kai Forbath was listed as questionable on the injury report after suffering a groin injury during practice, though no official word has been released on his status.

Potter was on the Redskins 90-man roster this summer, and was relegated to a kickoff specialist role during the preseason. He never attempted a field goal or extra point during that time.

A player will have to be released from the roster to correspond with Potter's signing.
