Any football fans out there with an Xbox or PlayStation, need to download the new Madden demo. I wish they had the Redskins in the demo but playing with the Seahawks will really give you a taste of what this season could look like for the Redskins.
Marshawn Lynch is a beast but I don't think there should be much, if any drop in ability with Morris(even though I feel like we have always been underrated in previous versions). And RG3 is an obvious upgrade over Wilson. The read option is a new feature this year, and it really gives you a feel for just how dangerous our offense can be this year. We've all heard the doubters and jealous fans say, " well we'll just hit the QB and put an end to it". That is not even close to being the case. If you run outside with the pitch option, I'll admit that it leaves your QB open for a hit. But with the inside handoff option, which is primarily what we ran last year, then you have no shot at the QB if he reads the defense correctly. As an armchair QB, I have screwed the read up a few times , but I think RG3 reads the defender better than any other read option QB in the league.
When the DE or OLB comes around the end he really only has 2options, take the RB or take the QB. If he over comitts and takes the QB, it leaves a perfect lane for the RB around the tackle. If he commits inside to the RB, the RB picks up that block leaving the QB a lane around the outside. Now for the doubters(jealous Cowboy fans) that say they'll just hit the QB, by the time the ball is handed off to the RB, he's already around the edge, and hitting the QB that late without the ball will be a penalty.
So when the defenses realize none of this is working, they might think about bring an extra rusher. Well, the only ones outside of the DE/OLB are the corners. If the DE commits to the RB then the corner comes in after the QB, the QB has already kept the ball and can easily dump a quick pass off to the uncovered WR.
Most of you guys already had a grasp of this concept and probably understood this better than me, but actually having the control in your hands, really was an eye opening experience for me. When this is run to perfection like I expect from the Redskins this year, it is going to be very dangerous.
