Who thinks that, from beside the obvious Secondary and O-Line help we need, we could possibly benefit from trying to find a true #1 WR somewhere in this draft? Agreed its not a a main priority at all, and yes we just picked up Pierre Garçon, and Josh Morgan whom both contributed greatly this season. But i have a just a small bit of doubt of if Pierre or Josh could ever truly be a #1, regardless of the talent they blatantly have and Pierre bringing the explosiveness he has to the game.
Ive read the arguments on how we basically had two #1s due to the fact that four of our recievers (Garcon, Morgan, Moss and Hankerson) all racked up at lest 500 yards combining to 2000 yards. im not sold on it though.
Having a number one is of course no guarantee to success, but for a franchise that has lacked a true number one since forever, and with a fan base thats been thirsty for a one for just as long, would it hurt us, if this trade down scenario happened, that we used a pick on a WR? Imagine a team with Griffin, Morris, Garcon, a healthy (and drug free) Davis, and a True #1…..scary thought, no?
