Fred Davis was on NFL Network today to talk about what's going on. The Browns also signed a TE today.
The Redskins still have a lot of work to do on their roster. With Rob Jackson missing the first four games of the season, suddenly the OLB position is very thin (especially since "Orapko" as Cerrato would say, is coming off a second torn pec). Fred Davis is still holding out for a team that wants him, and that appears to be ongoing since the Browns, one of the teams rumored to be interested in his services, signed Kellen Davis today, who was the first string TE for the Bears last year.
Fred was on the NFL Network today and had a couple nuggets worth sharing:
On his health:
"I'm good. I'm just rehabbing and working out right now. I started running a couple of weeks ago. I'm back on my pace. A little bit ahead of schedule, which is really good. I think [the injury] probably did play a little part [in hurting his appeal on the open market] because this is a business at the end of the day. If a team was to see my working out in a gym, like how I've been, I think they would change their mind about that. But it's a business and they have to do what they have to do. I'm going to tell you this....Next year, I'm going to be back, and ahead of schedule."
Wait...so is next year "this" year or 2014? And it's worth mentioning his RGIII update as we continue to inflate our hopes of a week one return:
"He definitely looks really good. You can barely even tell that he's hurt. He's doing every drill. He looks comfortable and normal to me. When he first got back, I was surprised...like...‘Did you just have surgery?'
