I'm angry. I'm drunk. I'm in Dallas Cowboy's territory. After this loss, which I take as bad as if the Redskins were in the playoff hunt, I look for the silver lining. In my case it's turning my life-long Cowboy's fan wife into a Redskin's fan. We might not have won on the field, but at least I have this victory.
It took five years for me to convert my wife. In the end it was our upcoming move to the DMV area and, more importantly, our six month old son that made her switch. She knew she couldn't compete with me and our son once we moved and started to cheer on the Redskins early this season. I knew we won her over when she wore the right gear and defied her die-hard Cowboy's fans parents within their own house. As her parents hung their heads in shame, she sang the praise of the Redskins... However briefly.
I know this season has been extremely disappointing, but I will forever remember it as the season we won over a life-long Cowboy's fan. She even looked into season tickets! While those are at least a year off, I look forward to taking her and my son to a game next season.
