Snap Reaction-Washington vs. Denver

Well.........................we tried and we actually had a chance but Lady Luck is not in our favor. Games like these sucks for us because while pundits goes with what's on the stats sheet and the easiest to criticize, we actually know how we lost this game. Thankfully there was some positives but let's go with what was observed today:

-Again, the defense was strong for another 1st half by holding Denver to 7 pts. As for the gameplan on how to beat Denver is being solved. Our initial gameplan would've worked which leads too....

-41 pts given up by the defense but is it really their fault? Four picks were thrown today and an unlucky punt had the defense start in their own territory nearly every drive Denver had the ball. They just played nearly the whole 3rd Q to have to go back out after the offense had drives of barely a minute is daunting. Against P. Manning is basically murder. Denver scored 17 pts off of turnovers and 7 from a muffed punt. If anything, give it up for the defense for 3 turnovers, 2 picks for Hall and for keeping the game close until...

-The abandonment of the gameplan in the 4th Q. I don't know why but literally for probably the 4th time this season, we went pass happy and abandoned the run. This time, we were actually tied in the 4th Q. How are we suppose to keep RG3 healthy for the whole season if we put him in immediate danger all the time. Before comments start flying about the OL(too late), I want to make a point that our OL is not made to handle a dropback QB (i.e P. Manning, Brady, Brees, etc.) but is meant for movement (running). What I don't understand for the Shanahan's is why trying to make pass happy offense out of a run-based offense. And again...

-Morris finished under 20 carries, 100 yds but averaged more than 5 YPC. Why do we keep doing this? Is it because of the dangerous "300" carries mark? At this rate, I don't think Morris will reach 240 carries. Running the ball (as obsolete as the current NFL wants to make it) still works. It keeps D honest (which they were until the 4th), it helps takes pressure of the QB and our scheme wears down the front 7 if used well (which it was). Soo....

-Why were trying to get Griffin killed? Seriously Kyle................why? Fans have debated that Griffin should have called an audible or is holding the ball too long. The first point will be debated more as game film is released and we are able to dissect the plays more but the second one is ludicrous. How effective will your QB be if you only give him 2 deep routes? Literally, we were down by seven and we were trying to take homerun shots. Why? Broncos DL were already playing dirty as it is, why give them more chances to hit Griffin? Even if we loss, if we use the same gameplan pre-4th Q it would have been close and Griffin would be healthier than he already was. We DON'T have the weapons to go pass happy so let's not start now.

Well this is a snap reaction by a fan. When the week starts, we will see what worked and what didn't? Was I right, wrong or totally left field? What was your observation? Who did you think deserve today's game ball?
