Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III is scheduled to undergo surgery to repair his torn LCL, according toESPN's Adam Schefter. Doctors will determine whether or not Griffin III suffered any damage to his ACL during the surgery.

Griffin III originally suffered a Grade 1 LCL sprain during Washington's Week 14 overtime win against the Baltimore Ravens. Griffin III subsequently missed Washington's contest against the Cleveland Browns in Week 15, but returned to face the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 16.
Washington's star rookie quarterback re-injured his knee in the Redskins' Wild Card round loss to the Seattle Seahawks. RGIII was noticeably limping in the first quarter, and his knee finally gave out on a non-contact injury late in the fourth quarter, as the Redskins were trying to mount a comeback.
Mike Shanahan and Redskins fans alike will have to continue to hold their breath, and hope that RGIII avoided a major ACL injury -- in addition to his torn LCL.
