What many of you may not realise is that to play AFL (Australian Football League) you have to be a supreme Athlete, now Rocca admittedly is quite old, so maybe they should go get another Aussie Punter from the AFL but the point is these Aussie guys are not your average Punter, these are genuine athletes, used to being hit and also used to evading contact and tacklers. In fact they all have the ability to get the boot on ball and roost it downfield even whilst being tackled.
So my suggestion is to take the RG3 Read-Option and incorporate it into the Punting game, let Sav sit back for a second and survey the state of the play and the blocking, incorporate some creative blocking into the system as well to open up half the field and give him the freedom to take off if he sees an opportunity. Maybe train a long snapper to snap it 5 yards deeper to give Sav that extra split second to decide.
LSU with their Aussie Punter Brad Wing already do this on occasion, so if College QBing can work in DC why not a College Football/Aussie Rules fusion read-option work in our Special Teams as well.
