Snake Bit Phil Luckett

+

For those that don't know Phil Luckett was the head official at the 1998 Thanksgiving game between the Steelers and Lions. In overtime he awarded the coin toss to the Lions even though Pittsburgh won it. Later that same year he was the head official at a game between the Jets and the Seahawks. In this game Vinny Testeverde was tackled short of the endzone on fourth down yet was awarded the game winning touchdown. I believe the following year instant replay was re-instituted. Well now his name shows up in connection with the Packers and Seahawks game. As it turns out he was the League supervisor at this game. The league supervisors job is to make sure the rules are being applied properly.
