Here's video of Cooley's teary announcement of his release to the media. I still don't feel like we have the whole story here. There were several things working against Chris, but I can't see Cooley wanting to be a starter like Shanahan said. Shanny has not been straight with media and the fans in the past (McNabb, Haynesworth, etc).
